Polymestor

Polymestor was a king of Thrace, who was married to Ilione, the eldest daughter of King Priam of Troy. He agreed to look after young Polydorus (Priam’s youngest son) and to keep him safe during the Trojan War, and so Polydorus was sent with gifts of jewellery and gold to Polymestor’ court. After Troy fell, though, Polymestor threw Polydorus to his death from the city walls and kept the treasure for himself. Polydorus’ mother, Hecuba, later avenged her son by killing both of Polymestor’s sons and then blinding Polymestor himself.
