Tarquinia
An Etruscan city. Tarquinia was the birthplace of the first Etruscan king in Rome, Lucius Priscus Tarquinius (Lucumo). Tarquinius was a son of a Corinthian named Demaratus, and an unnamed Etruscan woman. Tarquinius' wife, Tanaquil, encouraged him to go to Rome, where he succeeded Ancus Marcius.
