Circe

Circe was a goddess (or sometimes a nymph, witch, enchantress or sorceress), daughter of Helios, the god of the sun, and Perse, an Oceanid. She was also the sister of two kings of Colchis, Æëtes and Perses, as well as of Pasiphaë, mother of the Minotaur. Circe transformed her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals through the use of magical potions. During their wanderings, Odysseus and his crew encountered Circe on the island of Aeaea. However, Odysseus protected himself from her spells with a magical herb and the two became lovers and had a son, Telegonus (who would later accidentally kill his father).
