Electra
Electra was the daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra of Argos, and a sibling to Iphigeneia, Chrysothemis and Orestes. Although Electra was absent from Mycenae when Agamemnon returned from the Trojan War to be murdered by Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus, she later helped her brother Orestes avenge their father's murder by killing Clytemnestra and Aegisthus. She had previously been given in marriage to a peasant, but he had respected her and declined to consummate the marriage, and she later married Pylades, the boyhood friend of Orestes and his accomplice in the murder of Clytemnestra and Aegisthus.
