Lavinium

Lavinium was a city founded by Aeneas, who named it after his wife Lavinia, daughter of Latinus and Amata. It is possible that this city was Virgil's Laurentum, which didn't exist historically, and Laurentum was the original name for Lavinium and Aeneas possibly renamed it to Lavinium.

The town was separated from Ardea by a small stream called Numicus.
