Ceres
The Roman goddess of corn. Ceres was also a mother-goddess as well as the goddess of fertility. Ceres was indistinguishable from Demeter, her Greek counterpart.
Ceres was the mother of Proserpina (Greek Persephone) by Jupiter (Zeus). Ovid wrote the Roman version of her daughter's abduction by Pluto (Hades). She was the consort of Liber.
